Something new
Hiya ... Now that things have cooled off a bit out there, I’m premiering a new track that I’m hoping will heat things back up. BURNING BRIDGES is actually sort of a new/old song. I recorded a purely acoustic version of it years ago with my late husband Rick Comstock’s really lovely acoustic guitar.
Rick was very much a rock player and loved a lot of heavier bands than I did. But I always felt there was something about Rick’s acoustic playing that captured a different side of him. Maybe too vulnerable for him to stay in that groove? Not to get over-analytical about it all, I just always thought BURNING BRIDGES was a special track, but too different from the rest of our rock or alt dance tracks to post or play live. Until now.
Working with senior producer Chris Billias at Bristol Studios in Boston, he played and mixed synth keyboard bass and drums on the new version. Then Chris composed and played a piano part that I think has now become an essential part of BURNING BRIDGES. I’m pretty happy with the way it turned out. See what you think.
