Mirana first made waves in the New York music scene with her original band, Sighs Five. The group quickly earned enthusiastic praise from the rock press and developed a loyal following, performing at legendary venues including CBGBs, The Bottom Line, Trax, Gildersleeves, and Bleecker Street’s Kenny’s Castaways. Their music also found its way onto New York and college rock radio, building momentum through both critical acclaim and grassroots support.
As her sound evolved, the band transformed into the harder-edged Secret Service, bringing a more aggressive rock energy to the forefront. During this period, Mirana shared stages with artists such as Aerosmith’s Joe Perry, recorded at such iconic studios as Electric Lady and Sorcerer Sound, and had multiple indie music videos on rotation on MTV — a significant milestone during an era when MTV exposure could propel underground artists into national recognition.
Eventually relocating to the Boston area, Mirana embraced a more personal and introspective creative path as a singer/songwriter solo artist.
